Acumed OPT Croutons are a synthetic bone substitute made of pure Beta Tricalcium Phosphate (βTCP), a molecule similar to the mineral phase of natural bone. Designed to fill bone voids or defects of the skeletal system that are not intrinsic to the stability of the bony structure, OPT Croutons work with osseous defects that are surgically created or created from traumatic injury. OPT (Osteoconductive porous tricalcium phosphate) Croutons can remodel into bone during the healing process. The ready-to-use functionality of the OPT Croutons may reduce surgery time.
Acumed OPT Croutons are indicated only for filling voids or defects that are not intrinsic to the stability of the bony structure. OPT Croutons are to be gently packed into bony voids or gaps of the skeletal system (such as the extremities, spine, and the pelvis). These defects may be sugically created osscous defects or osseous defects created from traumatic injury to the bone. OPT Croutons are a bone graft substitute that resorbs and is replaced with bone during the healing process.
